Hello Springdale Neighbors!

My name is Michelle McFarland and I am running for Springdale City Council. For those of you that have been around Springdale for a while, you may remember me as Michelle Posega. I would love to represent the citizens of Springdale and help bring their voices and concerns to the forefront. I would love the opportunity to work with the residents, city employees and other elected officials to make this one of the most sought-after communities to live, work and do business in. Springdale already has some great things going for it and it has so much more potential!

I have spent the majority of my life as a Springdale resident. My parents, Bob and Sherry Posega, moved to Springdale when I was just 2 years old. I have two brothers, Chris and Mike, who are both firefighters in the area. My parents were a huge impact on my life. While we were growing up in Springdale, my Dad was very involved in the community as he was the Chief of the Springdale Fire Department for almost 20 years. My parents were also very involved in many of our activities including coaching, PTA, Room Mother, Swim Team Board among other things.

As I said, I have lived most of my life in Springdale. I am proud to be a product of the Princeton City School District and the Great Oaks VSD. I grew up on Fairsprings Court. I played sports at the Springdale Rec Center for many years including soccer, softball and volleyball. I also swam for Springdale Sailfish for several years. I was a founding member of S.T.A.F.F (Springdale Teens Adventuring for Fun) which is now know as Club Rec. My time at Princeton and Great Oaks included drill team, swim team, FHA/HERO, President of National Vocational Technical Honor Society and State VP of Public Relations for FCCLA. My first job was at the beloved Grand Finale restaurant.

I lived in Louisville KY for a few years while attending college. After moving back to the area, it didn't take me long to end up back in Springdale and I have been here ever since. I live in the Beacon Hills subdivision with my husband Greg. We have two children, Brian and Katelyn. They are both working their way through the Princeton City School district.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I have been a registered nurse in the state of Ohio for 11 years.

I am very active in the community. I am currently the President of the Springdale Elementary PTA. I serve on the Superintendent's Advisory Committee for the Princeton City School. I am an active member of Springdale Youth Boosters. I have volunteered as a soccer coach for Springdale for 5 years. I am an active parent helping the Springdale Sailfish and previously held a position on the board.
